About the role

Amazon is seeking a senior events and productions leader to manage teams and operations across Sydney, Singapore, and Japan. The APJ Event Production team delivers on-campus, off-campus, and dedicated-venue events, virtual experiences, studio productions, and post-production services powering some of Amazon's highest-profile internal experiences, reaching audiences in the thousands across the Asia-Pacific and Japan region. This is your opportunity to lead that team and define how production operates across three countries.

As APJ Event Productions Manager, you will people leader and operations owner. You will manage a distributed team of engineers, producers, and coordinators across three countries, translating customer briefs into delivered events and productions while keeping budgets, vendors, and schedules on track. Your day will shift between strategic planning (long term operational excellence, capacity forecasting, regional labour demand, new venue builds), tactical delivery (unblocking a live event, resolving a vendor delay) and people management (coaching a direct report). You will be the single point of accountability for production quality across the region.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and grow a team of event productions professionals across three countries, owning performance, hiring, and career development.
- Own the regional production budget and vendor relationships, keeping delivery on time and on budget.
- Plan and manage regional scheduling and capacity across competing event demands.
- Drive operational standards and continuous improvement across all production services in the region.
- Act as the escalation point for production issues and build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Travel across the region for events, people management and leadership meetings (approx 20% of your time).

Basic qualifications

- 5+ years of people management experience
- Experience managing large teams across multiple locations and languages
- Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships
- Experience delivering innovative entertainment experiences (inclusive of live events) to large audiences

Preferred qualifications

- Experience working with teams and executive leadership in a complex enterprise environment
- Knowledge of video production crews, live streaming technologies, studio workflows, edit and post- production techniques, production calendars and staffing
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 6+ years of professional experience in event production or media operations
- CSEP, CMP, or other relevant event or production industry certification
