About the role
The On-the-Road (OTR) Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Coordinator plays an important role in helping our AMZL and QC Operations deliver to our customers. We are looking for motivated individuals who want to be the one behind the Amazon smile. This role is critical in strengthening our safety-first culture and ensuring safe, compliant operations across our AMZL-Trans and OTR network in Egypt.
As the OTR WHS Coordinator, you will partner closely with business leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate WHS risks, while implementing Amazon’s global safety standards and local legislative requirements. You will drive continuous improvement through lean principles and Kaizen, delivering scalable safety solutions and maintaining a healthy, safe environment for all Associates and Delivery Partners. A successful candidate will build strong trust with Operations teams, communicates proactively, and influences through data-driven insights. You will train and coach leaders on Amazon WHS policies, support site teams with safety implementation, and help embed road safety best practices across the network.
The candidate will report directly to Country Global Road Safety (GRS) Manager
Key Responsibilities -
• Provide dedicated safety support to AMZL-Trans sites and OTR teams across Egypt, ensuring alignment with Amazon policies and compliance with local/regional requirements.
• Conduct routine vehicle and road safety audits, identifying non-compliances and driving corrective actions to eliminate risks.
• Monitor and audit WHS record-keeping and Global Safety Database (Austin) entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to global standards.
• Oversee and audit safety training programs, ensuring quality, trainer competency, and consistent execution across all sites.
• Act as the primary WHS point of contact for WW Safety, Global Road Safety, and internal stakeholders, supporting cross-functional safety initiatives.
• Lead collaborative health and safety projects focused on reducing risk, strengthening compliance, and improving OTR safety outcomes.
• Conduct comprehensive WHS risk assessments for all OTR activities and processes.
• Provide expert-level guidance on WHS matters within assigned sites and functional areas.
• Develop and implement local WHS procedures that meet or exceed Amazon Global Standards.
• Analyze safety metrics, trends, and incident data to inform decision-making and optimize resource deployment.
• Serve as the OTR Subject Matter Expert, guiding site teams on road safety procedures and best practices.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners on OTR incident reporting, tracking, and follow-up.
• Review OTR incidents, identify root causes, evaluate corrective actions, and provide gap assessments for continuous improvement.
• Lead the deployment of OTR safety technologies and initiatives in line with the regional safety roadmap.

- - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is a must
- - Professional certificate in Health and Safety.
- - Professional fluency in written and spoken English
- - Valid driver's license
- - Ability to travel inside Egypt up to 25% of work time
- - Knowledge in road safety standards is a plus
- Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus skills
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
- Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses
- Experienced in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificates

Basic qualifications
- 2+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience- - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is a must
- - Professional certificate in Health and Safety.
