Program Manager, RFI Compliance
Netflix · Los Angeles, CA · Legal
About the role
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
The Role:
Regulators around the world send Netflix requests for information. Responding well requires translating legal and regulatory requirements into answerable requests for engineering, product, policy, and business teams; coordinating responses across many stakeholders and outside counsel.
We are building a regulatory Requests for Information (RFI) function within Global Ethics & Compliance, unifying intake, tracking, and response coordination for regulatory inquiries that span privacy, consumer protection, payments and competition matters. We are looking for a Compliance Program Manager to be the day-to-day operational owner of this function end to end, while also playing a broader role across the global regulatory compliance team's operational work.
You’ll work closely with senior counsel as well as subject-matter experts (“Informed Captains”) on strategy and substantive responses. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in a room of lawyers and a room of engineers, and is energized by building durable workflows and tooling, not just running it.
Responsibilities:
Manage unified intake with functional/regional leads, coordination across response owners and stakeholders (legal, engineering, policy, operations), and final review and submission.
Breakdown regulatory and legal requirements into precise, actionable requests for engineering, product, data, and business teams, and translate their technical responses back into language that satisfies the legal/regulatory requirements.
Maintain the relevant trackers, monitor statutory deadlines, manage regulator extension protocols, and safeguard against missed filings.
Produce cross-program metrics for compliance leadership, and capture learnings from closed matters to strengthen the knowledge base.
Continuously improve the program which may include making schema improvements, automations, playbooks, and documentation.
Support and optimize any other Compliance operations, tools and trackers, and key strategic compliance initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
5+ years of program/project management experience, ideally in legal operations, compliance, regulatory response, or a comparable cross-functional environment. Demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-stakeholder workflows from intake to completion.
Proven ability to work comfortably with both legal counsel and engineering/technical teams, and to translate legal or regulatory requirements into clear, scoped requests engineers can execute and vice versa.
A track record of rigorous tracking, data hygiene, and follow-through; you treat accuracy and deadline reliability as non-negotiable.
Strong written and verbal communication; able to drive alignment across senior counsel, SMEs, regional teams, and external counsel without formal authority over them.
Hands-on comfort with Airtable, collaboration tools (Slack, Google Workspace/Drive), and a willingness to design and improve workflows, not just operate them.
Comfort handling confidential, privileged, and legally sensitive information with sound judgment about escalation and need-to-know.
Familiarity with one or more of the following regulatory domains - privacy/data protection, consumer protection, payments or competition/antitrust - is a plus.
