Key job responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for a Product Manager – Technical to support the Amazon Leo Government team focusing on DoD and National Security customers. This position will be based in in the Northern Virginia, Southern CA or Seattle, WA area. This position will be part of the Product Management team defining and managing a family of products for special network features within Amazon Leo’s broadband space network for high throughput broadband communications. This is a unique opportunity to innovate and define communications technology with few legacy constraints. The team develops and designs the Leo Government products. This team also works closely with the business and engineering teams to ensure that the products will meet customer requirements and presents a good business opportunity for Amazon.
In this role you will:
• Write product roadmaps, product description documents, and engineering requirements documents for products and product families
• Develop Product Strategies, help define what the products should be and how to meet requirements of multiple government customer verticals
• Create detailed product requirements documents based on an intimate knowledge of the specific customer verticals (federal, DoD, intelligence community) including use case prioritization, feature definition and product roadmap
• Work with leadership team to set the customer strategy and make appropriate high-judgment trade-offs between features and speed-to-launch
• Manage entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution and work with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver on that vision, e.g., business development, engineering, sales, finance, operations, international
• Establish goals and reviewing metrics to identify opportunities and deliver success
• Research and identify new opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers
• Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
Security Clearance: This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must have recently (within 1-2 years) OR currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance(with polygraph preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- Experience in networking
- Experience coordinating complex products with stringent technical requirements, development cycles and schedules
- Experience in Space Vehicle/Satellite Operations, Space Communications or related industry

- 5+ years of customer-facing product development and product management, including defining, launching, and optimizing product and services experience- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
