About the role
Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a data-driven Business Analyst to join the APAC Sales Intelligence & Business Development team. In this role, you will leverage data analytics, business intelligence tools, and cross-functional collaboration to generate actionable insights that guide operational decisions, sales performance, and strategic planning. You will serve as the subject matter expert on presenting data in an informative and actionable way, supporting leadership in making key business decisions through metrics design, reporting automation, and deep-dive analysis.
Key job responsibilities
As a Business Analyst on the AGL team, you will work with large-scale datasets across Amazon's data warehouse ecosystem to design, build, and maintain reporting solutions that enable self-service data consumption. You will collaborate closely with sales leaders, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex data into digestible insights, identify performance gaps, and recommend data-driven action plans.
**Data Analysis & Insights**
- Gather business insights by mining data from complex data warehouses, making recommendations, and helping senior leaders make key business decisions
- Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of structured and unstructured data to automate and optimize key processes
- Perform deep-dive analysis on key business metrics (e.g., bookings, conversion, sales performance, seller behavior) and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Size opportunities, apply statistical testing methods, and build analytical models to address quantitative business problems
- Proactively identify areas of opportunity for in-depth investigation and future program development
**Reporting & Dashboarding**
- Design, develop, and maintain scaled, automated dashboards (QuickSight, Tableau, or similar) to support business needs
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and KPI tracking
- Build data visualization reports and tools for self-service data consumption
- Improve corporate reporting frameworks and ensure each report is accurate and timely
**Business Metrics & Measurement Systems**
- Design and implement tangible business metrics, measurement systems that guide operations, projects, and program roadmaps
- Update KPI metrics, monitor KPI performance, and support performance deep-dives
- Build and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, control, and benchmark business processes
**Automation & Technical Development**
- Execute SQL queries and database operations to retrieve and manage data requirements
- Use Python (e.g., pandas) to clean, transform, and format data for reporting and downstream use
- Automate planning, deep-dive, and reporting models to increase efficiency
- Generate complex queries to dive deep on process issues
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Collaborate with centralized Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams to leverage existing data and build access to new data
- Serve as the primary data reporting and analysis expert supporting business teams, following an intake and prioritization process
- Communicate results to stakeholders effectively and facilitate data-driven decision making
- Partner with sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to deliver insights that drive business growth
**Data Quality & Governance**
- Perform thorough data validation to maintain accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all datasets
- Analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality and reliable insights
- Investigate data anomalies, understand root causes, and develop alternative measurement strategies
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with SQL or ETL
- Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages
- Experience in Amazon Redshift and other AWS technologies
- Experience in a BI role with a technology company or financial institution
- Experience in project management

Basic qualifications
- 2+ years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with SQL or ETL
- Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using very large datasets- Experience in Amazon Redshift and other AWS technologies
