About the role
Amazon's vision is a world where opportunities to grow, thrive, and connect are available to everyone. We invest in technology that helps employees build new skills, access support, and find community — from personalized onboarding to upskilling and professional development. We're looking for an exceptional Data Engineer to help deliver on that commitment at scale.
The Growth and Onboarding tech team builds the platform that powers personalized onboarding and development experiences for Amazonians worldwide. Our growth requires engineers who move fast, have an entrepreneurial spirit to create new solutions, have an unrelenting tenacity to get things done, and are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to design and maintain efficient, automated data architectures from the ground up. They know and love working with data engineering tools, can model multidimensional datasets, and can partner effectively with BI Engineers, Data Scientists, and Learning Scientists to build the right pipelines to answer key questions about how people learn and grow at Amazon. They will build efficient, flexible, extensible, and scalable data models, ETL designs, and data integration services. They will also own the full lifecycle of these solutions: design, development, documentation, testing, and operations.
This is a greenfield platform with high visibility to senior leadership and high opportunity for impact for those willing to roll up their sleeves and dive deep. You will set the technical bar for data quality and reliability on a system that touches the career trajectory of every Amazonian. We're working hard, having fun, making history. Come join us!
