Within Amazon India, Amazon's Payments team supports hundreds of millions of customers and millions of merchants in their payment needs by providing the most trusted, convenient and rewarding payment experience. We aspire to make Digital Payments accessible to every Indian. The Transaction Settlement Unit (TSU), part of the Payments team, Manages payment reconciliation for Amazon India’s Escrow and nodal accounts. This role sits at the intersection of technology, operations, and finance. The responsibilities include:

• Ensuring transactions in the PPI Escrow and Nodal accounts are compliant with regulatory guidelines
• Managing end-to-end reconciliation to identify discrepancies, establish root causes, and drive resolution through cross-functional stakeholder coordination
• Forecasting cash requirements, monitoring fund sufficiency in escrow accounts, and coordinating with Treasury, Finance, and business teams to ensure uninterrupted fund availability
• Front-ending regulatory and statutory audits for escrow accounts and reporting to the regulator
• Preparing leadership updates and writing business requirement documents (BRDs) to define and drive automation and process improvement initiatives
• Conducting UAT and providing launch support to ensure business readiness for new system deployments


Key job responsibilities
-Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of reconciliation programs, ensuring timely resolution of financial discrepancies and compliance with established processes of Nodal and Escrow accounts
-Conduct deep dives into transaction data and financial metrics to identify anomalies, root causes, and opportunities for process improvements
-Monthly substantiation- Daily identification, deep dive, escalation and closure of exceptions by partnering with various world-wide teams
-Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including finance, operations, and technology teams to align on project goals, mitigate delivery risks, and drive consensus on solutions
-Lead internal and external and regulatory audits of these accounts
-Advise business teams in launch of new products and capabilities w.r.t potential impact on these accounts
-Closely work with accounting and finance to ensure accurate representation in entity accounts
-Drive continuous improvement and automation
-Ensure ongoing compliance with guidelines and become backup of processes to ensure business continuity.

A day in the life
Each day brings new challenges in transaction settlement operations. You might start your morning analyzing settlement data to identify reconciliation gaps, then transition to facilitating a working session with accounting and technology partners to resolve a complex discrepancy. Your afternoons could involve updating stakeholders on program status, documenting process improvements, or diving into financial metrics to surface potential risks before they impact operations. You'll work closely with team members who value analytical rigor and collaborative problem-solving.

Basic qualifications

- 2+ years of program or project management experience
- Master's degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred qualifications

- Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
- Experience in MS Access and SQL
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
- Experience working in an analytical environment with cross-functional teams
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification preferred.
