Program Manager, 3PL Warehouse Operations & Automation, AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL)
Amazon Data Services Ireland Limited · Dublin, Ireland · Program Management
Full-timeLead
About the role
Amazon Cloud Logistics (ACL) EMEA is seeking an experienced Program Manager to drive warehouse optimisation, process engineering, and automation across our third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse network. This role will be at the forefront of transforming how our warehouses operate — designing and implementing process improvements, enabling Warehouse Management System (WMS) capabilities, and building the roadmap for warehouse automation technologies.
You will work directly with our 3PL warehouse providers to assess current-state operations, identify optimisation opportunities, and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and throughput. The ideal candidate brings deep warehouse operations expertise combined with strong program management fundamentals and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key job responsibilities
- Warehouse Process Engineering & Optimisation
- Assess, design, and re-engineer warehouse processes across inbound, storage, pick/pack, and outbound operations
- Develop and maintain process maps, SOPs, and engineering standards for the 3PL warehouse network
- Identify and eliminate waste using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies; drive measurable throughput and accuracy improvements
- Lead time-and-motion studies and capacity modelling to inform layout and flow optimisation
- Automation Strategy & Implementation
- Own the warehouse automation roadmap — evaluate, select, and deploy automation technologies (robotics, conveyance, goods-to-person, AS/RS, AMRs)
- Build business cases and ROI models for automation investments
- Manage end-to-end automation projects from concept through go-live, including vendor selection, integration, UAT, and hypercare
- Stay current on emerging warehouse technologies and assess applicability to the ACL network
- WMS Enablement & Deployment
- Lead WMS deployment and configuration projects across 3PL sites
- Define functional requirements, system workflows, and integration points
- Drive WMS feature enablement to unlock operational capabilities (wave planning, slotting optimisation, task interleaving, labour management)
- Partner with IT and 3PL systems teams to ensure seamless integration with upstream/downstream systems (TMS, OMS, ERP)
- 3PL Warehouse Performance Management
- Establish and monitor KPIs for 3PL warehouse performance (productivity, accuracy, SLA adherence, cost-per-unit)
- Conduct regular operational reviews with 3PL partners; identify improvement opportunities and track action plans
- Develop benchmarking frameworks to compare performance across sites and drive best-practice sharing
- Support contract negotiations with data-driven insights on operational efficiency and cost
- Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Transportation, Finance, and Technology teams
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into optimisation initiatives
