An established intellectual property boutique is seeking an experiencedPatent Agentwith substantive patent preparation and prosecution experience involvingquantum computing.

The practice represents innovative technology companies developing next-generation products across quantum computing, cybersecurity, cryptography, semiconductors, software, AI, and other advanced technologies. This position offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and sophisticated patent work.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
  • Work directly with inventors and engineers to understand complex technologies and develop strong patent claims.
  • Prepare Office Action responses and manage applications throughout prosecution.
  • Assist clients with patent strategy and portfolio development.
  • Develop and expand client relationships.

Technical Focus

Actual quantum computing patent preparation and prosecution experience is a key requirement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of substantive patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and prosecuting quantum computing patent applications.
  • Cybersecurity, cryptography, semiconductor, or sophisticated software patent experience strongly preferred.
  • B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • USPTO registration required.
  • Strong patent drafting, technical writing, and client communication skills.
  • Some portable patent prosecution business preferred.
