Data Center Capacity Delivery Commissioning (DCCD Cx) is looking for an exceptional individual to join our Commissioning organization as the Fire LIfe Safety (FLS) Commissioning Engineer based in Mumbai, India. As a FLS Commissioning Engineer, you will apply fire codes and industrial standards to data center commissioning. You will work alongside engineering teams to review concept designs and to ensure they meet established standards, local code and Authorities Having Jurisdiction. You will be part of a team responsible for the design, construction, commissioning in both green and brownfields data centers. You will be part of a team of motivated, intelligent and driven professional, working backwards from our customers. You will innovate and are committed to deliver customer satisfaction, delivering faster with improved quality without compromising safety.
Key job responsibilities
- Understand the design concepts and intents by reviewing FLS documentation, including drawings, specifications, vendor submittals and cause effect (C&E matrix), actualize design concepts in construction phase and validate C&E through commissioning.
- Provide recommendations to design, pre-functional checklists, startup and functional test scripts developed by others, commission-ability, construct-ability and maintainability.
- Review documentation for compliance with Amazon standards, industry standards, local code requirements and design specifications
- Assess the capability of commissioned systems to match the design intent
- Deliver both FLS and MEP projects across all APJC Substations and Data Centers
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Experience with fire and building codes and standards, including the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Electrical Code (NEC), FM Global standards, International Fire Code (IFC) and the Comprehensive International Building Code (IBC)
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA
- Experience in design engineering or the construction industry, including fire suppression systems, fire alarm and detection systems, fire-resistive construction, and life safety
- Experience in design review, specification, development of design standards, and submittal review

Basic qualifications
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Experience with fire and building codes and standards, including the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Electrical Code (NEC), FM Global standards, International Fire Code (IFC) and the Comprehensive International Building Code (IBC)
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in construction, or experience in construction or project management- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA
