About the role
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Cloudscape team and work on the new initiative to develop intent based UX at scale especially for AWS Management Console UX . You will design, build, and operate systems that will have direct impact on AWS service builders' team to develop AWS Management Console UX at scale.
This is not a role where you implement features in isolation. You will work across the full stack: from the Cora API, working with AWS SDK and cross-functional teams across all AWS service builders community. You will use GenAI technologies, validation agents to develop and validate the UX produced using LLM. You will own systems end-to-end — from design through production operations — and your work will be measured by builder experience outcomes, not lines of code.
Key job responsibilities
* Design and own end-to-end systems, spanning backend services, APIs, and frontend integration.
* Build and evolve GenAI-powered services that support intent based UX generation, validation, and automation workflows.
* Contribute to long-term technical vision and architecture decisions.
* Balance short-term delivery with scalable, maintainable system design.
* Work directly with AWS builders community and internal teams to understand needs and translate them into robust solutions.
* Drive engineering excellence through instrumentation, automated testing, and pipeline-based deployment.
* Think big about the agentic era and experiment boldly with AI-powered capabilities such as conversational setup, natural-language troubleshooting, and AI-assisted fleet management.
* Contribute to hiring, mentor junior engineers, and raise the overall engineering bar.
A day in the life
Engage the AWS builders community and stakeholders in the various Cloudscape organization. Review critical CRs and mentor others on the team. Contextualize and simplify UX builder experience challenges for stakeholders and engage multiple AWS teams, security and operational excellence teams. Even though the oncall activities are minimum in this team, still participate in oncall rotations, monitor operations and business metrics dashboard. Support AWS builders community and stakeholders to unblock them in real time on console builder experience issues.

Our team builds Cloudscape, the AWS Design System and Cora builder experience for AWS UX builders community. We deliver a shared, consistent foundation used across the AWS Management Console, including reusable UI components.

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Basic qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
