Senior Business Development Manager, AWS SCE Cloud Economics

About the role

As a Cloud Economics Business Development Manager, you will quantify the cost and value benefits of running applications on AWS. You will build board-ready migration business cases, shape customers' IT financial models, and engage directly with C-level executives, Finance leaders, and IT architects to accelerate cloud adoption.

You will partner with AWS sales teams on strategic customer engagements, identify economic barriers to adoption, and develop strategies to overcome them. You will deepen your expertise in data center economics, legacy environment cost modeling, and consultative selling, while directly influencing how large enterprises in ASEAN think about their cloud investments.

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Cloud Economics team in APJC, helping to drive sales engagements with our customers in one of our most important markets
- Work with AWS Sales and Specialist AWS functions to help quantify the economics of running IT applications in the cloud versus a traditional data center environment
- Act as a central resource for the Sales team to help our customers create financial models for their current and future IT landscape
- Build case studies and reusable examples that scale Cloud Economics learnings across AWS
- Be a resource for market insights into how our customers view the economic benefit of using AWS relative to deploying applications on-premise or in traditional data centers
- Prepare and present business cases to senior leaders, explaining the value of migrating to AWS

About the team
The AWS Cloud Economics team helps customers identify and quantify value creation opportunities at each stage of their journey to the cloud. We engage directly and collaboratively with customers, partners and internal AWS teams to deliver cloud value advisory expertise, business value case development, and Cloud Financial Management best practices and methodologies. The Cloud Economics team can help answer the customer question: “What value can I expect to achieve by using AWS?”

Basic qualifications

- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science)
- 6+ years working with and presenting to senior executives, IT, lines of business, procurement, finance, legal and/or internal stakeholders
- 6+ years experience in financial analysis, value engineering, or value advisory

Preferred qualifications

- Advanced degree
- Familiarity with AWS pricing models, cost management tools, or Cloud Financial Management frameworks
- Familiarity with enterprise IT infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud migration patterns
- Experience building TCO or ROI models
- Background in management consulting, technology advisory, or solution selling
