The AWS Certification Program Leader drives the strategy, development, and global delivery of AWS Certification exams—the industry standard for validating cloud expertise. This role owns the end-to-end certification portfolio, from exam content creation and technical validation to go-to-market execution and recertification, serving technical practitioners, enterprises, and AWS Partners worldwide. At the forefront of skills assessment innovation, this leader reimagines how cloud expertise is measured—harnessing AI, adaptive assessment techniques, and emerging psychometric models to move beyond point-in-time testing toward continuous, meaningful validation of real-world cloud skills at scale.
Key job responsibilities
Own the end-to-end AWS Certification portfolio strategy, from exam content creation and technical validation through go-to-market execution and recertification.
Lead global delivery of AWS Certification exams as the industry standard for validating cloud expertise across technical practitioners, enterprises, and AWS Partners.
Drive innovation in skills assessment—applying AI, adaptive assessment techniques, and emerging psychometric models to evolve from point-in-time testing to continuous validation of real-world cloud skills at scale.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across content, engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to align the certification roadmap with customer and business needs.
Define and track program metrics, manage the portfolio roadmap, and communicate progress and trade-offs to senior leadership.
A day in the life
In this role, you'll partner daily with exam content teams, psychometricians, product managers, and go-to-market stakeholders to advance the AWS Certification portfolio. You'll spend time reviewing exam development pipelines, evaluating new assessment technologies, resolving cross-team dependencies, and preparing recommendations for senior leadership. You'll balance long-term strategy—reimagining how cloud skills are measured—with day-to-day operational execution, ensuring certifications launch on time and meet the highest quality bar for practitioners, enterprises, and Partners worldwide.

- 7+ years of technical program management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience managing certification and/or skill assessment programs at scale
- Knowledge of cloud computing services or deployment architecture
- Experience working in an internet-related program or technical product management in a software applications environment
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

Basic qualifications
- 7+ years of people management experience- 7+ years of technical program management experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
