Position: Bilingual Indonesian STEM Expert (PhD) — AI Safety
Type:Contract
Compensation:$19–$23/hour
Location:Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Write expert-level prompts in Indonesian across specialized scientific topics.
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
• Native or near-native fluency in Indonesian.
• Business-level written English.
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques.
• Sound judgment around scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.

Preferred

• Based in Indonesia or the wider Southeast Asia region.
• Expertise in radiological and nuclear coverage from a chemistry background.
• Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield like organic or inorganic synthesis.
• Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety, or hazardous-materials handling.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.
