Software Development Engineer II, Amazon External Payments
ADCI - Karnataka · Bengaluru, India · Software Development
Full-time
About the role
Amazon External Payments is building the foundational capabilities for Agentic Payments. As a Software Development Engineer (SDE2), you will own the development of these core building blocks, enabling intelligent agents to complete purchases on behalf of customers. You will collaborate closely with Global Payment Tech to design and deliver payment primitives for wallet integration, tokenisation and agentic deals, set the technical vision for your team, influence the broader technology roadmap, and drive continuous architectural and performance improvements.
Amazon External Payments is one of Amazon’s fastest-growing businesses. It enables e-commerce websites to accept payments using the payment methods stored in customers’ Amazon.com accounts, allowing users to seamlessly pay for goods and services beyond Amazon. The platform also allows customers to manage preferences and view their off-Amazon transaction history. Hundreds of thousands of users complete millions of transactions worldwide through Amazon Pay. Our teams build software across the entire stack, from customer-facing interfaces to highly scalable backend systems.
Key job responsibilities
If you’re excited to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment within Amazon and help shape the future of payments beyond Amazon.com, this is the role for you. We are looking for passionate, experienced SDE Leads who are driven to use technology to solve complex business problems and deliver meaningful impact at scale.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit https://amazon.jobs/content/en/how-we-hire/accommodations for more information.
