About the role
As the leader for Amazon Mexico’s growing Speed-sensitive selection Segment, you will focus on delivering a world-class customer experience and exceptional sales and margin growth for this growing business. The person who joins the team in this critical leadership position must share our passion and commitment for growing this business and focus on the customer value proposition.
The Mexico business is a key growth opportunity for Amazon. We are looking for an executive with deep experience in managing the P&L for multiple business lines. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for online commerce, have a high level of flexibility and commitment, and above all, be customer obsessed. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, great communicator and negotiator, and will have the business judgment and analytical strength to break down complex problems, the willingness to roll up his or her sleeves and ability to operate cross-functionally. The ability of managing internal, external stakeholders and create a long-term vision for this new segment that the teams can align on is critical for the success of this candidate.
Key job responsibilities
• Support the growth and profitability of Mexico’s speed-sensitive selection businesses with a view to improving revenue and margin across all levers from selection, inventory levels, speed of delivery and promotion to vendor negotiations and operational efficiency
• Anticipate customer expectations, changing customer perceptions of online commerce in Mexico and regularly share insights with the wider Mexico Country Leadership Team
• Inspire a motivated and talented team to deliver on its objectives by spreading best practices and helping to address any constraints to growth
• Use detailed analytics and technical capabilities to optimize business models and customer experience in these highly speed-sensitive categories
• Continue to build a world class team, driven by teamwork and able to swiftly operate in the highly demanding environment of Amazon
• Lead Mexico wide initiatives that will materially impact growth
• Manage Selling Partners and support existing partnerships in a strategic and competitive manner, unlocking better value for Sellers, Vendors, and Customers
• Create strategy documents focused on innovative ideas, segment operating plans and feature gaps remediation, drive execution of those plans
Additionally, this leader will be strong at hiring & developing people, working with Chief Operating Officers, Presidents, or Vice Presidents of large, high profile Vendors, Sellers and other partners in areas such as strategic planning and contract negotiations, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, innovative, and excel at “thinking big,” while also recognizing the need to coordinate his or her team’s activities within the established structure of a large, fast-growing company. Defining and implementing long term business strategies based on industry trends and competitive analysis and the ability to think outside of the box to solve complex problems are key to success.

- Experience in e-commerce, retail or advertising, or experience managing teams- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
