Senior Engagement Manager, US Federal Financials Professional Services Team

Amazon Web Services, Inc. · Dallas, TX · Professional Services

Full-timeSenior

About the role

Are you energized by guiding customers through complex cloud transformations and turning ambitious visions into measurable business outcomes? As a Senior Engagement Manager within Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services, you will lead the full lifecycle of large-scale technical engagements, orchestrating multiple workstreams across AWS, customer, and partner teams. You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers navigate their cloud journeys while ensuring delivery excellence at every stage. This role puts you at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, where your ability to build relationships, manage risk, and drive alignment will directly shape how organizations realize the value of the cloud.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive project planning and execution for large, multi-workstream engagements, defining delivery quality standards and employing frameworks such as Agile, Waterfall, and the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework to drive successful customer outcomes.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with customer stakeholders, guiding them to clarify business vision, align work plans to strategy, and overcome obstacles through collaborative problem-solving and clear communication.
- Manage engagement scope, financials, and timelines by negotiating conditions of acceptance, identifying risks early, and implementing mitigation strategies that keep programs on track and within contractual boundaries.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among AWS, customer, and partner resources, driving crisp decisions, clearing blockers, and redirecting distressed programs toward positive results.
- Establish and share best practices for delivery quality, engagement security, and operational excellence, while mentoring team members and contributing to organizational capability building.

A day in the life
You start your morning reviewing project dashboards and aligning priorities across workstreams with your delivery leads. Mid-morning, you facilitate a release planning session with a customer's technical and business teams, capturing decisions and surfacing dependencies. After lunch, you join an architectural review to validate that the proposed solution meets the customer's strategic objectives, then pivot to a stakeholder call where you present progress updates and negotiate scope adjustments. Between meetings, you coach a newer engagement manager on risk management techniques and refine a delivery kit that your broader team can reuse.
