Sr. Product Manager, Amazon Intermodal, Amazon Intermodal
Amazon.com Services LLC · Atlanta, GA · Product Management
Full-timeSenior
About the role
Amazon's Intermodal (AZIM) Network Optimization team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive the technology and product strategy that powers cost optimization and operational efficiency across the intermodal network, with a primary focus on drayage. This is a high-impact role responsible for translating complex supply chain problems — drayage cost reduction, carrier allocation, load planning, and ramp-level execution — into scalable product and automation solutions.
This role will own the product roadmap for drayage optimization tooling, partnering closely with engineering, operations, finance, and sourcing teams to define requirements, prioritize investments, and deliver capabilities that measurably reduce cost and manual effort. The ideal candidate combines strong technical product management skills with supply chain fluency, is comfortable navigating ambiguity to define what should be built and why, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where shipping product improvements directly impacts network economics.
Key job responsibilities
Key Job Responsibilities
Drayage Product Strategy & Roadmap Own the product vision and roadmap for drayage optimization — including carrier allocation, load planning, cost modeling, and ramp-level execution tooling. Define what to build, sequence investments, and align stakeholders on priorities.
Requirements & Solution Design Translate operational pain points and cost reduction opportunities into clear product requirements and technical specifications. Partner with engineering to scope solutions that balance speed-to-value with long-term scalability.
Automation & Tooling Development Identify and eliminate manual processes across the drayage lifecycle by designing automated workflows, alerting mechanisms, and self-service analytics capabilities that reduce toil and improve decision speed.
Data & Metrics Ownership Define and instrument success metrics for drayage product initiatives. Monitor adoption, measure realized cost savings, and use data to iterate on product direction and prioritize the backlog.
Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with Network Optimization, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, and Operations to ensure product investments are grounded in business priorities and deliver measurable impact to the intermodal network.
Stakeholder Communication Present product strategy, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership. Articulate trade-offs clearly, build alignment on investment decisions, and advocate for the resources needed to execute the roadmap.
A day in the life
You'll start each morning reviewing drayage performance metrics and product dashboards to assess adoption, flag issues, and identify optimization gaps. From there, you'll work with Engineering to refine requirements, unblock development, or review sprint deliverables. You'll partner with Network Optimization and Operations teams to ground product decisions in real execution challenges — carrier availability, ramp constraints, cost variability. You'll sync with Finance and Sourcing to validate that product investments align with cost savings targets. When new opportunities surface, you'll scope the problem, size the impact, and build the case for senior leadership. Your customers are the AZIM teams that plan, execute, and optimize drayage operations every day.
