Senior Solution Architect, US-Healthcare

Amazon Web Services, Inc. · Nashville, TN · Solution Architect

Full-timeSenior

About the role

Are you passionate about transforming healthcare through cloud technology? AWS is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to serve as a trusted technical advisor to healthcare providers, helping them modernize infrastructure, adopt generative AI, and improve patient outcomes. You'll design HIPAA-compliant architectures that integrate with EHR systems like Epic and Cerner while enabling AI-powered clinical workflows.

In this role, you'll partner with CIOs, CTOs, and Chief Medical Information Officers at health systems to lead technical engagements. You'll architect solutions for complex healthcare challenges, including data center migrations and deploying generative AI applications using Amazon Bedrock. This role offers the opportunity to shape how healthcare organizations adopt cloud technology while working across the full breadth of the AWS platform.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead customer-facing architecture discussions, whiteboarding sessions, and proof-of-concept builds with healthcare IT and clinical leadership, translating complex technical concepts into solutions that address their business and patient care objectives
- Design and implement HIPAA-compliant cloud architectures that integrate with healthcare ecosystems including EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner), health data interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR), and medical imaging systems, ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence
- Drive adoption of generative AI and machine learning services (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, HealthLake) within regulated clinical environments, balancing innovation with strict data governance and patient safety requirements
- Develop reusable reference architectures, technical proposals, and cost optimization strategies for healthcare-specific workloads including data lake designs, clinical analytics platforms, and infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Build and own strategic relationships with senior healthcare executives across 30+ accounts, directly influencing pipeline creation, accelerating deal velocity, and activating under-penetrated accounts to drive territory revenue growth

A day in the life
You'll spend most of your day in customer-facing engagements: leading Well-Architected Reviews, running discovery sessions for cloud migrations, and designing GenAI architectures for clinical workflows. Between meetings, you'll build HIPAA-compliant reference architectures, draft technical proposals, and create demo environments using Amazon Bedrock integrated with healthcare systems. You'll collaborate with specialist Solutions Architects on security reviews, contribute reusable healthcare patterns to the SA community, and travel roughly 30% of the time for on-site workshops and executive briefings.
