Amazon’s Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) team identifies and mitigates risk for last mile (LM) transportation programs in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment. To support the business, our primary mission is to perform independent and objective, risk-based assessments of Amazon business partners’ activities and related controls with the goal of improving operations, compliance, risk management, and overall success of the program. We provide Audit & Monitoring (A&M) support for high-risk transportation risk topics to drive compliance across the transportation programs and influence business controls
Amazon Quick Commerce (QC) program is experiencing rapid growth in Asia Pacific (APAC) & Middle East Türkiye and Africa (MEATR), operating various models across the region (e.g. in India, a hybrid model combining Third-Party (3P) On-the-Road (OTR) delivery partners and Amazon Flex; in MEATR via 1P and 3P programs). We are looking for an experienced Senior Risk Manager to join our APAC & MEATR TRC LM team, who can apply their knowledge of risk management and internal controls to a diverse set of transportation risk areas including compliance, process, technology, legal, finance, and program management, to lead risk assessment and A&M for QC program, specifically in IN and MEATR.
The successful candidate will propose innovative approaches and risk mitigation strategies throughout the business life cycle.

In this highly visible role, you will work closely with LM transportation business to evaluate risk and build A&M programs that support carrier partners in meeting legal and contractual obligations. You will be expected to apply risk and control concepts to new and existing business models, clearly and concisely communicate identified findings to senior leadership, and partner with cross-functions teams to design workflows in support of risk-reduction activities. You will set program objectives, assign appropriate metrics that measure success, and drive business changes that reduce risk. You will work closely with the regional legal, business, product, and operations teams on effective risk mitigation countermeasures to ensure continued safety and compliance for Amazon and our transportation partners. The role will require high-level strategic thinking to deep-dive analytical problem solving while thinking big. You must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and enjoy working on different problems every day.



Key job responsibilities
• Independently conduct comprehensive Focused Risk Evaluations and Monitoring Needs Assessment of Amazon’s transportation programs (e.g. QC) and propose risk mitigation strategy.
• Assist stakeholders (e.g., risk partners and senior business leaders) with identifying and managing potential risks (e.g., regulatory, operational, or reputational) in their core processes that if left untreated could impact on the achievement of their strategic objectives.
• Identify areas where compliance monitoring required and design / develop a risk-based A&M program for 3P carrier compliance and lead execution.
• Manage the end-to-end execution A&M programs to determine if the transportation partners are compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Manage A&M findings, ensuring closure, or enforcement actions if they are not closed on time.
• Guide senior business leadership, resolve risk management concerns, implement mitigation strategies, and influence the product roadmap.
• Validate the business stakeholder’s risk control effectiveness and follow up their implementation status.
• Work closely with legal and public policy to identify the new regulations, understand emerging risk environment, and influence controls and compliance programs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the transportation program’s contract with 3rd party carriers and Amazon program policy to mitigate risks associated with transportation business.
• Advise the business on risk and compliance issues for new transportation initiatives, processes, risks and controls and building solutions despite ambiguity.
• Management and execution of cross-functional projects or programs including data gathering, analysis, communication of insights and recommendations.
• Deliver quality, business-oriented reports that are written with practical, actionable, and value-added recommendations


A day in the life
In this role, you will work closely with Amazon IN and MEATR LM transportation business, specifically QC, to understand their nuanced risk landscapes, align on risk mitigation strategies, recommend first line risk controls, and form A&M programs in a sustainable and scalable way to control the risks under the reasonable level. You will also partner with various teams including legal, public policy, finance, safety, and compliance teams to understand and evaluate risks, and optimize A&M.

Basic qualifications

- 7+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously and driving goals to completion
- 5+ years of program or project Management experience
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Can work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks
- 5+ years of functional or operational data analysis, based on large volumes of data experience
- 5+ years of experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship

Preferred qualifications

- Master's degree or equivalent
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Knowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state, and federal levels
- Experience working in the operations, transportation, and logistics sectors.
