Are you passionate about driving meaningful change in sustainability? Amazon is seeking a strong seasoned Program Manager passionate about Sustainability to lead strategic partnerships that will shape the future of our Carbon, Water, and Waste initiatives. In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to mobilize industry-wide shifts that make environmental goals commercially viable at scale.

You'll serve as a critical bridge between Amazon and the broader sustainability ecosystem—engaging with policy makers, industry think tanks, industry bodies, and solution providers to forge partnerships that create lasting impact. This position offers the chance to position Amazon as a sustainability leader while working with collaborative teams across multiple geographies who share your passion for environmental innovation.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with external stakeholders including policy makers, industry bodies, and think tanks to advance Amazon's Carbon, Water, and Waste goals
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that span organizations and geographies, ensuring alignment with organizational sustainability objectives and business impact
- Analyze data and industry trends to identify opportunities for commercial viability, proactively mitigating risks and driving consensus across diverse stakeholder groups
- Influence resource allocation and priority decisions by creating clear, measurable success criteria and regularly reviewing program metrics
- Build and maintain relationships with solution providers and regional sustainability leads to scale innovation and drive industry-wide transformation

A day in the life
Your day is dynamic and externally focused. You'll engage in immersive stakeholder relationship management—meeting with policy makers to discuss regulatory frameworks, collaborating with industry think tanks on breakthrough solutions, and partnering with PR teams to amplify impact. Between external meetings, you'll synthesize insights, drive internal alignment across teams, and advance strategic initiatives that bring Amazon closer to its sustainability commitments.

About the team
The Central Operations Sustainability team thrives on innovation and collaboration with like-minded solution providers passionate about sustainability. We work with sustainability leads across multiple geographies who bring diverse perspectives and shared commitment to environmental impact. Together, we're building partnerships and programs that don't just meet goals—they transform how industries approach Carbon, Water, and Waste challenges at scale.

Basic qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 5+ years of Business strategy or Non-Tech Program Management experience
- 3+ years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences experience
- 3+ years driving Sustainability initiatives

Preferred qualifications

- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
