The Industry Relations team is seeking a Senior Lead, Partnerships to shape sustainability partnerships and communications with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and research institutions. This role will serve as the main point of contact for priority partners, developing and executing engagement strategies to accelerate progress toward The Climate Pledge. This role will partner closely with communications, marketing, and public policy teams to share partnership wins with external audiences through impactful storytelling.
The ideal candidate brings experience managing complex partnerships at a corporation, stakeholder management across diverse teams, and is fluent in the sustainability NGO landscape. The ideal candidate gets energy from connecting with people, is motivated to develop long-term positive and effective relationships at all levels, and is easily able to uncover opportunities for collaboration. The role requires sharp judgment, a collaborative working style, and ability to navigate organizational structures both within Amazon and external organizations.
Key job responsibilities
- Influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate delivery of Amazon’s 2040 net-zero carbon commitment
- Lead relationships with priority NGOs and research institutions to ensure positive and effective partnerships
- Develop and execute engagement strategies, including commissioned research, joint publications, advisory, and speaking engagements
- Evaluate partnership renewal and investment level against defined business value and external engagement metrics
- Identify and onboard new partners aligned to priority topic areas
- Ensure visibility and progress of ongoing work is reported and communicated across teams
- Develop and own mechanisms to track and improve the awareness of sustainability partnerships across Amazon
- Evaluate risks and secure necessary internal approvals for partnerships and joint initiatives
- Partner with communications, marketing, and public policy teams to share partnership wins with external audiences through impactful storytelling
- Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology
- 8+ years of experience leading global partnerships with high levels of complexity
- 5+ years of experience driving the strategy and execution of sustainability programs at a corporation or NGO
- Deep familiarity with the sustainability NGO landscape, including major organizations operating in climate, energy, water, and corporate responsibility
- Outstanding judgment and exceptional social skills to build and maintain relationships across diverse audiences
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise communications and engagement plans from concept to completion
- Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment
- Experience developing, leading, negotiating and executing corporate and/or business transactions

Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree- Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology
- 8+ years of experience leading global partnerships with high levels of complexity
- 5+ years of experience driving the strategy and execution of sustainability programs at a corporation or NGO
- Deep familiarity with the sustainability NGO landscape, including major organizations operating in climate, energy, water, and corporate responsibility
- Outstanding judgment and exceptional social skills to build and maintain relationships across diverse audiences
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise communications and engagement plans from concept to completion

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
