Solutions Architect, Canada Public Sector

Amazon Web Services Canada, Inc. · Toronto, ON · Solution Architect

Full-time

About the role

As a Solutions Architect (SA), you will be the trusted technical advisor for government and education customers navigating their cloud journey. You will own end-to-end technical engagements - diving deep into customer challenges, getting hands-on with technology, and guiding organizations from whiteboard to production. Whether a customer is modernizing citizen-facing applications, building secure and compliant data platforms, leveraging AI and machine learning to improve service delivery, or architecting resilient cloud-native infrastructure, you will be the person they turn to for guidance.

You will engage across every level of an organization: from senior leaders shaping IT strategy and procurement, to technical teams building and operating the platforms that serve millions of Canadians. The SA combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen - you are equally comfortable presenting complex cloud architectures to a room of engineers and articulating the business value of those solutions to a non-technical audience. You will develop and deliver presentations, demos, blog posts, whitepapers, and reference architectures that capture the imagination of the broader SA community, our partners, and our customers. You will speak at public events, contribute to the technical community, and help shape how AWS serves the public sector.

SAs within our team bring experience designing secure, compliant, and high-performing solutions that meet the unique regulatory and operational requirements of government and education customers. They possess exceptional communication skills and the technical depth to earn credibility with any audience. SAs are expected to provide thought leadership on emerging trends - from AI/ML and Generative AI to data modernization and cloud-native architectures - and to translate those trends into practical, mission-aligned solutions. By nature, the SA is a builder and a leader with whom customers are eager to engage.

If you are excited about the intersection of cloud technology and public purpose, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same, we would love to hear from you.

This role is based out of our Toronto office and supports government and education customers across Ontario, with approximately 15% travel.
