MEDIA PLANNER

JOB SUMMARY

The Media Planner owns day-to-day media planning, campaign strategy, vendor management, pacing, optimization, and reporting across channels. This role translates client goals, audience insights, and performance data into actionable media strategies and independently makes recommendations to improve campaign performance and support measurable client outcomes. The Media Planner also serves as a key point of coordination across internal teams, vendors, and junior planning staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage media plans grounded in client objectives, audience insights, budgets, and channel performance

  • Recommend channel mix, placements, investment levels, and other planning approaches based on campaign strategy and available data

  • Own day-to-day vendor relationships, including evaluating opportunities, managing placements, resolving issues, and coordinating timelines and deliverables

  • Monitor campaign pacing, budgets, and performance; independently identify issues and develop optimization recommendations within client strategy and campaign parameters

  • Analyze campaign results and translate data into clear insights, strategic recommendations, and next-step guidance

  • Lead preparation of reporting deliverables and ensure performance narratives accurately reflect campaign results, learnings, and opportunities

  • Partner with Ad Ops, Analytics, Creative, Account, and other cross-functional teams to guide integrated campaign planning and activation

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to Associate Media Planners, including reviewing work, supporting problem-solving, and developing planning skills

  • Maintain accurate media plans, budgets, planning documentation, and campaign records, resolving discrepancies and ensuring alignment across stakeholders

  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, campaign performance, and overall media approach


REQUIREMENTS

  • 2–4+ years of experience in media planning, buying, or a related discipline

  • Strong working knowledge of digital, social, and programmatic media channels

  • Demonstrated ability to develop media recommendations based on client goals, audience insights, budgets, and performance data

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign performance, identify trends and issues, and recommend appropriate actions

  • Experience managing vendors and coordinating complex campaign workflows

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain recommendations and performance insights clearly

  • Experience with media planning tools, analytics platforms, spreadsheets, and media systems

  • Ability to independently manage multiple campaigns, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

LOCATION:

  • This is a remote position. We are open to a remote candidate located anywhere in the US or an in-office candidate based in our Sarasota, FL/Lakewood, CO office.

COMPENSATION:$65,000 - $75,000 DOE
