About the role
Are you someone that thrives in ambiguity and has the ability to drive a structured response to an event/situation and lead critical programs across miles and stakeholder teams? The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Central Operations Contingency Response Center (CRC) is focused on ensuring Delivery Stations and Last Mile Stakeholders across all business lines receive support for emergency situations that threaten safety and customer promise to include, but not limited to civil unrest, severe weather, logistics disruptions, site closures etc. The Senior CRC Large Scale Event & Program Manager will coordinate with relevant stakeholders across Last Mile, Middle Mile, Supply Chain and Subject Matter Expert teams to drive mitigations for such events. They will drive programs and initiatives improving safety, network resilience and balancing tradeoffs for LSE detection, triage and response working with pan-EU and global teams.
Key job responsibilities
• Manage the network's most impactful contingency response plans and report on post-event outcomes and impacts
• Lead complex strategic programs improving contingency response working with stakeholders across operations, supply chain and upstream teams.
• Lead and participate in workshops with stakeholders to improve our most important response plans
• Develop strategic plans and lead department pillars for in annual planning cycles
• Manage dissemination of network communication via email, internet chat, and phone
• Direct immediate emergency actions within thresholds considering on-the-ground inputs, forward looking plans and available protection levers
• Earn the trust of stakeholders across business lines to build rapid consensus across teams in ambiguous situations
• Lead escalation calls with Directors and Vice Presidents and other functional head decision makers from across Amazon
• Make quick, correct decisions while considering upstream and downstream effects on the delivery network
• Represent the Head of Functional as required
A day in the life
1. Represent CRC (Contingency Response Center) in AMZL (Amazon Logistics) Daily Business Reviews with Senior Stakeholders
2. Plan/Attend Workshops with stakeholders and make progress on programs
3. If needed, step in and coordinate emergent Large Scale Event actions with Central Operations and Operations stakeholders
4. Generate/Review daily report for weather and non-weather events, alerts and mitigations.

EU Central Operation Contingency Response Center (EU CO CRC) coordinates management of Large Scale Events(LSE) impacting Last Mile Nodes. A Large Scale Event is an incident that impacts a Delivery Station/Stations ability to safely continue operations and has customer impact, potentially resulting in a high number of promise misses. The team liaises with multiple stakeholders across business lines to ensure safety and minimize internal and external customer impact.
- Experience in performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies
- Work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Experience delivering complex projects with prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team and/or product
- Experience in analytical tasks or projects, working with data
- Experience in security operations, risk management, and incident response
- Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
- Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, or experience communicating results to senior leadership

Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above- Experience in performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies
- Work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Experience delivering complex projects with prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team and/or product
- Experience in analytical tasks or projects, working with data
