About the role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a world-class sales professional to lead our global customer and partner relationship with a strategic Energy customer headquartered in Norway — someone who thrives at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and executive influence.
As a Global Account Manager (GAM), you will partner with our customer to build strategic relationships, articulate a clear vision, and generate measurable business value. You will leverage existing programs, innovate and scale new mechanisms, and develop formal case studies highlighting outcomes and solutions running on AWS.
As a Global Account Manager, you will drive digital transformations through effective engagement with C-level executives, IT leaders, architects, developers, and various lines of business. You will establish AWS as the key AI and cloud technology provider across the Energy & Utilities accounts you manage, promoting the entire AWS products and services portfolio.
Key job responsibilities
Identify and build trusted advisor relationships with key influencers and decision-makers (CxOs, VPs, Board members) across Lines of Business and functional areas
Develop and implement comprehensive 3-year account strategies aligned to customer board-level priorities that drive growth and maximize revenue opportunities
Work closely with internal AWS teams (executives, solution architects, industry specialists, marketing, partners, enterprise support, service teams and professional services), as well as external SI and ISV partners, to architect and deliver best-in-class business solutions for customers
Display strong leadership presence with the ability to command a room; serve as an authority in communicating via email, phone, and face to face, and comfortable writing executive briefing documents for the most senior executives
Operate with significant autonomy and discretion; exercise critical business judgement in routine and complex customer engagements
Drive strategic pipeline creation and conversion of large-scale transformation programs to achieve and exceed revenue targets
Create executive-level value propositions tied to measurable outcomes and ROI
Monitor Energy & Utility industry trends to provide strategic insights and identify new opportunities for customer innovation
Develop case studies and reference materials highlighting successful customer outcomes on AWS
Participate and lead the negotiation and closing of legal agreements, such as Enterprise Agreements (EAs), and contracts, such as Private Pricing Addendums (PPAs).
- Strong understanding of AWS’s service catalog ability to relate cloud and Agentic AI solutions to solving clients’ business problems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to executive audiences
- Deep understanding of sales principles, processes and techniques including lead generation, negotiation and closing complex, multi-stakeholder
- Bachelor's degree, or MBA in computer science, engineering, analytics, business or equivalent
- Fluency in English and preferably in Norwegian.
- Experience in digital transformation consulting or strategic advisory roles
- Proven history of creating net-new revenue streams through strategic initiatives
- Strong understanding of AWS’s service catalog ability to relate cloud and Agentic AI solutions to solving clients’ business problems

Basic qualifications
- 10+ years of direct sales experience in software, cloud or SaaS markets, with proven success selling to C-level executives- Strong understanding of AWS’s service catalog ability to relate cloud and Agentic AI solutions to solving clients’ business problems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to executive audiences
- Deep understanding of sales principles, processes and techniques including lead generation, negotiation and closing complex, multi-stakeholder
- Bachelor's degree, or MBA in computer science, engineering, analytics, business or equivalent
- Fluency in English and preferably in Norwegian.
