Business and Vendor Developer, Network Planning and Acquisition
Amazon Data Services UK Limited · London, England, United Kingdom · Infra Business Dev - Tech
Full-time
About the role
Amazon Web Services provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world.
The AWS Cloud infrastructure is built around Regions and Availability Zones (AZs). AWS Regions provide multiple, physically separated and isolated Availability Zones which are connected with low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant networking. These Availability Zones offer AWS customers an easier and more effective way to design and operate applications and databases, making them more highly available, fault tolerant, and scalable than traditional single datacenter infrastructures or multi-datacenter infrastructures.
AWS is seeking an exceptional Network Developer to help architect and scale one of the world's most sophisticated networks. As a key member of our Network Planning and Acquisition organization, you will drive innovation in network scaling while maintaining AWS's renowned operational excellence. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of regional and international network infrastructure while solving complex challenges at unprecedented scale. You will leverage your technical expertise and commercial acumen to develop creative solutions that support Amazon's continued growth and expansion. Join us in building the future of cloud infrastructure at AWS, where your contributions will have global impact.
AWS Global Connectivity and Infrastructure Delivery owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global network infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
The candidate will have deep market and industry knowledge in telecommunications; experienced with vendor negotiations, networking technology, business case development and robust financial analysis skills. This individual will actively drive commercial vendor strategy, working with existing vendors, new vendors, as well as the AWS service teams and internal customers to build and design a portfolio of network infrastructure solutions.
This role requires collaboration, driving strategic initiatives and executing commercial deals across our network geography. By applying a unique blend of business and technology experience, you will work closely with both external stakeholders and internal teams to find creative, cost effective, and often innovative solutions to meet Amazon's ongoing growth and expansion needs worldwide.
