The Last Mile Analytics and Quality team (LMAQ) works within Last Mile Tech to bridge the automation gaps on problems where no technology exists or the tech solution is in the works. The team has an eco-system of quality specialists, program managers and BI Engineers working together to improve geo-spatial data quality and support the driver lifecycle & experience programs.

As the team expands, we need a Data Governance Framework to identify and eliminate data and information security risks (current and future). The program manager will define the framework working with the program and tech teams, benchmarking and adopting the best practices from different teams across Amazon. Individual will own the framework and conduct the audits at regular cadence.


Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will :
• Be a custodian of the data usage risks when liaising with internal teams to help drive tools and process improvements that affect secure management workflows
• Proactively identify pain points and opportunities for continual secure process simplification and improvement to create program efficiencies
• Monitor existing metrics, analyze data, and partner with other internal teams (e.g., engineering, finance, Business Operations, technical operations, Business Intelligence, Product management, Partnership, legal & public policy) to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
• Create compliance frameworks for use of AI technologies enabling stakeholders to understand and implement compliance requirements.
• Conduct AI reviews and audits to identify risks and implement risk mitigation measures. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement risk mitigation measures and monitor risks.
• Monitor AI and Data privacy regulations and advise business leaders and tech teams on emerging regulatory challenges.
• Create and publish Data Privacy risk review reports for leaders detailing the risks, root causes, impacts, risk mitigation measures, action owners and risk closure timelines. Monitor all the identified risks.
• Work towards improving the data privacy risk review process, improving the quality of the risk register, and identifying opportunities for automation and tools improvements.
• Drive the "Data Governance Training and Awareness Program," in collaboration with LMAQ Learning & Development Team, providing data handling training and data security Do's and Don'ts to the employees.
• Provide privacy-by-design and AI use guidance to business teams creating new use cases for analyzing customer data.
• Maintain comprehensive, high quality & up-to-date program & policy documentation that clearly outlines risks mitigations, standards, controls & policies.
• Periodically conduct internal audits & reviews on controls & processes to identify gaps & strengthen controls.
• Collaborate with internal information security, fraud and abuse teams to identify & mitigate risks.
• Act as single-threaded owner ensuring compliance requirements are implemented by establishing project plans, defining owners and milestones, reporting status to senior management and driving towards launch approval
• Work with product management and engineering teams to prioritize scalable technology solutions to enable business growth within compliance standards.
• Create clear compliance requirements for tech and product teams to translate into engineering requirements

Basic qualifications

- Experience in program or project management
- 7+ years of data governance, data privacy, risk management, use case/tool audits and reviews
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with data privacy laws including GDPR, DPDPA, etc.
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with risk management, information security or compliance framework management
- Experience with stakeholder management including tech teams

Preferred qualifications

- Experience of working in an product engineering organization
- Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
- Software development experience, or experience of working closely with the tech, BI and DE teams
