Director, Government Affairs

About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Director to lead NVIDIA government affairs activities in Taiwan. In this role you will lead the development and execution of NVIDIA's government relations strategy in Taiwan. Position will report to the Head of Global Policy.
We are looking for a highly collaborative, hands-on leader with a background and existing deep network with government and policy leaders (including government ministries, think tanks, national and regional initiatives, research institutions, trade associations and industry partners). You will take ownership of projects end-to-end, from concept to implementation, and be ready to use your creativity to overcome problems.
What you’ll be doing
- Track and analyze policy developments, provide internal policy recommendations, brief NVIDIA senior executives, develop engagement strategies and engage senior policy makers.
- Work closely with other teams, including legal, sales, marketing, engineering and public relations.
- Track AI policy and regulatory developments in Taiwan member states and prepare summaries for NV leadership.
- Monitor output from trade associations, think tanks, and other policy thought leaders and flag items of interest to the team.
- Collaborate closely with ecosystem partners on shared policy and regulatory priorities.
What we need to see
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, public policy, or a related field.
- 15+ years experience in Tawain government affairs, public policy, corporate affairs, consulting, or a government or multilateral institution — or equivalent experience through internship, academic, or policy research roles. 5 years of experience in leading teams.
- In depth knowledge of Taiwanese regulatory processes and relevant policy areas and understanding of wider regional and geopolitical landscape.
- Strong relationship across key sectors of the Taiwanese government and political system.
- Strong judgement and diplomatic skills. Understanding of cultural and political expectations and norms.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills are a must, including fluency in English and local language.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with strong attention to detail.
- Experience working on AI, semiconductor manufacturing, digital economy, or technology policy issues.
