About the role

Join Amazon's Legal Department as an Associate Corporate Counsel supporting Amazon Web Services, where you'll negotiate high-impact commercial agreements that shape how enterprises adopt cloud computing. You'll work on strategic technology licensing deals and marketing initiatives that drive global expansion for one of the world's fastest-growing cloud infrastructure businesses.

Key job responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on strategic technology service and licensing agreements with enterprise customers and partners, ranging from standard contracts to complex, high-value strategic alliances
- Provide legal support for local and regional marketing initiatives, ensuring compliance and managing legal considerations across global expansion efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and business stakeholders to integrate legal perspectives into commercial negotiations and business decisions
- Analyze contract terms and risk factors in technology licensing and service agreements, identifying issues and recommending solutions that align with business objectives
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and evolving legal considerations in cloud computing and technology services to inform strategic legal guidance

A day in the life
As an Associate Corporate Counsel supporting our sales and marketing legal team, you'll spend your time navigating complex commercial negotiations and providing strategic legal guidance on technology service agreements. You might begin your day reviewing a proposed enterprise licensing agreement, identifying key risk areas, and drafting redlines that protect our interests while keeping negotiations moving forward. Later, you could be collaborating with our marketing team on compliance considerations for a regional expansion initiative, or working through the nuances of a strategic alliance agreement with a technology partner. Your work spans from straightforward standard contracts to sophisticated, multi-million-dollar deals that require careful analysis and creative problem-solving. You'll interact regularly with sales teams, business stakeholders, and external counsel to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions from the start.

Basic qualifications

- 2+ years of post bar admission legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines

Preferred qualifications

- Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent
- Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
