Job Purpose: The Income Tracking Analyst is responsible for independently performing various analysis and collection efforts related to public performance royalties due to Sony Music Publishing and its related production music catalogs. This role focuses on A/V and non-A/V performance analysis both foreign and domestic.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with staff across multiple departments to meet individual & departmental expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment

  • Independently ensure timely royalty reportings are received and processed for Extreme Music and Bleeding Fingers Music

  • Independently ensure accurate and timely royalty reporting of public performance earnings for synchronization licenses issued across the SMP catalog utilizing internal and external license and viewership data.

  • Perform cyclical receipts analysis for distributions made to SMP by the US Performing Rights Societies for the Extreme Music and Bleeding Fingers Music catalogs

  • Perform cyclical percentage received analysis for distributions made to SMP by the US & Canadian Performing Rights Societies & subsequent collection efforts where necessary

  • Perform cyclical receipts analysis for distributions made to SMP by the Canadian Performing Rights Societies

  • Assist Associate Director with review of charting works airing on terrestrial radio and available via audio streaming platforms & subsequent collection efforts where necessary.

  • Assist Associate Director with review of projects assigned to departmental interns.

  • Actively maintain data entry to support royalty collection efforts

  • Assist with contract and financial receipts review

  • Assist Associate Director with ad hoc requests/projects, inquiries from SMP affiliate offices as well assistance with projects assigned to departmental interns

Who You Are:

  • Exceptional interpersonal relationship building

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and foster teamwork and unity within a department

  • Understanding of copyright economics and industry standard accounting principles and practices

  • A highly organized person that pays close attention to the details

  • You are a clear and effective communicator

  • You have a strategic mindset and lean on data to inform and track business goals

  • Advanced proficiency of various computer applications such as MS Excel, experience with Power Query is a plus

  • Experience with music cue sheets and US PROs is a plus

  • 3 or more years of music publishing and/or other related experience required

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume may require extended working hours
