About the role
Regional RAD Operations (GRO) provides end-to-end IT supply chain services supporting Amazon's global technology infrastructure. GRO is looking for a results-driven leader to join our team as the Global Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA). This leader will own inventory integrity as a system discipline across GRO's 5-facility global network, building and executing the control framework that ensures accuracy, prevents cross-customer contamination, and drives continuous reduction in inventory-related losses.
The EMEA Regional ICQA Manager owns the strategy, methodology, and governance for inventory accuracy across all GRO sites on the region. This leader is responsible for designing and deploying standardized cycle count programs, root cause analysis frameworks, defect resolution processes, and accuracy KPIs. GRO operates shared infrastructure serving multiple business units from common physical space. This creates a unique ICQA challenge: maintaining absolute inventory segregation and accuracy when multiple customers' assets occupy the same facilities, flow through the same processes, and are managed in the same systems.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. The Regional ICQA Manager will define what "accurate" means for a multi-BU shared infrastructure operation, build the framework to measure and enforce it, and lead a team responsible for executing that framework across 8 countries. They will partner with Operations Engineering on platform requirements to ensure upcoming WMS capabilities enforce accuracy at the system level. They will drive root cause ownership on every inventory failure event and install the accountability mechanisms that make the operation self-correcting.
Key job responsibilities
- Own inventory accuracy strategy and execution across GRO's 5-facility EMEA network, targeting measurable reduction in IRDR (Inventory Record Defect Rate) and inventory-related financial losses
- Design and deploy standardized cycle count methodology across all sites and regions, establishing frequency, sampling approach, and escalation triggers appropriate to each facility's volume and complexity
- Build and maintain the cross-BU inventory segregation control framework that prevents cross-customer consumption in shared infrastructure environments
- Lead root cause analysis on all inventory failure events (leakage, misallocation, shrinkage); drive systemic corrections rather than one-time fixes
- Define and govern the ICQA KPI framework: accuracy targets by site, by BU, and by process path with clear accountability at each level
- Partner with Operations Engineering to define inventory accuracy requirements for the execution platform (WMS), ensuring the control framework translates into system-enforced logic at deployment
- Build dashboards and reporting that provide real-time visibility into inventory health across all sites without manual compilation
- Drive continuous improvement in ICQA processes through kaizen methodology, defect trend analysis, and cross-site best practice sharing
- Collaborate with Global Transportation and Logistics, Operations Engineering, and regional operations leaders to resolve inventory discrepancies that cross functional boundaries
- Support financial reconciliation efforts by providing accurate defect data, loss quantification, and trend analysis to Finance and leadership
A day in the life
This leader starts each day reviewing inventory health across the EU network: IRDR results, aging defects, and any leakage events requiring investigation. Mornings are spent partnering with site leaders to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions. Midday focuses on framework development: refining cycle count methodology, validating WMS segregation requirements with Engineering, or analyzing accuracy data for systemic failure patterns. Afternoons shift to program governance, team development, and cross-regional standards alignment. When a significant inventory event occurs, this role owns the investigation through structural resolution.

The operation serves multiple business units (AWS, Stores, Field IT) from shared infrastructure, absorbing complexity across three paths: planned deployment, rapid response spare parts, and returns/lifecycle management.
The ICQA function sits at the center of GRO's operational integrity. - Experience with multiple cycles of platform or product design
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
- Experience in operations or inventory management
- Experience developing and implementing KPI goals and strategies based on broader organization goals
- Familiarity with cycle count methodologies
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience in people management
- Experience working with engineering and technical teams to build automated solutions
- Experience in project/program management, supply chain, and/or inventory management

Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent- Experience with multiple cycles of platform or product design
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
- Experience in operations or inventory management
- Experience developing and implementing KPI goals and strategies based on broader organization goals
- Familiarity with cycle count methodologies
Preferred qualifications
- Speak, write, and read fluently in German- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience in people management
- Experience working with engineering and technical teams to build automated solutions
