We are looking for a Business Affairs Executive to join Amazon Studios’ Film and Television group. This role will lead the team providing deal-making services across all scripted and unscripted deals in our LATAM markets, as well as multi-territory deals, and will report directly to the Head of International Business Affairs.


Key job responsibilities

The Head of Business Affairs, LATAM will lead negotiations across above-the-line talent deals (including writers, producers, directors and cast), development deals (including original scripts, book and format rights) and production company agreements throughout LATAM. The role will partner closely with Creative, Production, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Tax and Legal, while collaborating with business affairs executives across territories to develop cross-territory solutions. The candidate will also support Legal Affairs in finalizing agreements and addressing production issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record working with LATAM agents, managers and outside counsel, with the ability to navigate business practices across diverse territories. Substantial multi-territory commercial affairs experience, with a focus on development and growth opportunities, is required.

A comprehensive understanding of international film and television agreements, development and production methodologies, market practices, guild regulations, contract law and intellectual property is essential. Excellent drafting, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.

The successful candidate will manage a high-volume workload effectively, operate within corporate parameters, remain calm under pressure, build strong internal relationships, advise senior executives in time-sensitive situations, and apply strategic thinking and risk analysis to drive effective business solutions.

Basic qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Law, or 9+ years of legal experience
- A thorough understanding of LATAM entertainment industry customs and practices with multiple years’ experience in entertainment deal making, representing or working for a major scripted production company, studio or network

Preferred qualifications

- Deep understanding of various international scripted, unscripted and film media business models.
- Trusted and established relationships with LATAM agents, lawyers and production companies.
- Commercial and business affairs expertise.
- Ability to understand and devise new business models.
- Deep interest in technology and innovation.
- You must be enthusiastic and have a track record of demonstrating sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
